An official order issued by the Basic Education Officer of the district said that in view of the dense fog and cold weather conditions in the district, all schools of Gautam Buddha Nagar will remain closed for students up to class 8 till Tuesday i.e. January 16.
District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar said that this order is applicable to all schools recognized by the state board, CBSE, ICSE, IB and others located in the district.
The order said the decision has been taken due to cold day conditions and dense fog. As per the order, the said suspension of classes will be applicable to all schools affiliated to any recognized educational board in Noida, Greater Noida and other cities, towns and villages of GB Nagar.
“In view of the dense fog and extreme cold, in compliance with the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddha Nagar, all the boards recognized by the Department of Basic Education (CBSE/ICSE/IB, Uttar Pradesh) (from class nursery to 08) in the district, Basic Education Department in Gautam Buddha Nagar There will be holiday in government/non-government/government schools till 16.01.2024 in the council and other schools (from class nursery to 08) run under the Government of India. The entire staff of the school will remain working on 16.01.2024. The above order should be strictly followed,” the order issued in Hindi said.

The latest order has extended the closure period already imposed from January 6. Last week, the Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration had ordered extension of closure of schools for students of class 8 and below due to cold wave conditions.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the national capital on Sunday dropped to 3.5 degrees Celsius – the lowest this winter, while the India Meteorological Department said dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to persist over the region in the next 48 hours. There is a possibility.
The maximum temperature was 20.6 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above the season’s average. The minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 3.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
The national capital has been in the grip of severe cold for the last three days and the lowest minimum temperature of this winter season was recorded on Sunday, the weather department said.
