NASA recently posted new photos of Saturn on social media, along with an image of the planet Peridia, which NASA described as similar to a ringed planet.
In a post on Instagram, NASA wrote that our solar system formed a long time ago right here in a galaxy, “creating planets and moons that share similarities with a galaxy far, far away”.
It gave further information about Peridia, saying it was “the extragalactic planet where Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn disappeared, later found by Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren.”
“Peridia looks very similar to Saturn, the planet with the most spectacular rings in our solar system. Image description: Saturn appears in shades of grey, its rings are brown and surrounded by black space,” it added.
NASA notes that Mars is covered with dry red, brown and gray regolith (soil) with dunes, mountains and plains. Image Description: Mars appears brownish-red in this image. “The Valles Marineris valley system covers a significant portion of the planet’s width. The background is the blackness of space,” it added.
The latest images took users by surprise. One user commented, “Our Earth is the most beautiful.” Another user commented, “Life is better on Saturn.”

Someone else said, “Shani. You are beautiful.” One user said, “Saturn is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
Photos ‘Photoshopped’?
Some users questioned the authenticity of NASA’s recent post, asking if the latest photos were photoshopped.

One user commented, “Are these photoshopped?” “You can see the pixels,” said another.

“I guess these aren’t real photos,” a different user commented.
Yet another user compared the images to science fiction, saying, “The CGI images are as real as what we see in Star Wars. NASA is just another science fiction company.”

Earlier, NASA’s Webb Telescope has released a stunning glimpse of the dense central region of the galaxy.
In the image released by NASA Webb, it shows “a spherical collection of stars”. The center of the cluster is dominated by a concentrated group of bright white stars, with several large yellow stars scattered throughout the image. Many stars have visible diffraction spikes and the background is black.”
