film producer Sanjay Gupta recently sparked a debate on social media by sharing his glowing review of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. While the director praised the film and its director Aditya Dhar, one line of his appreciation tweet overshadowed the compliments, triggering a wave of online backlash and heated reactions.

The filmmaker said that he faced abuse on social media over his post on Dhurandhar, in which he commented that he was “not interested in all the publicity.”
On Saturday, Sanjay took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, which stars Ranveer Singh along with Akshay Khanna, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt.
Sanjay wrote in his tweet, “Finally watched #Dhurandhar and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me it was completely a one man show and that man is @AdityaDharFilms. I’m not interested in all the propaganda. I really enjoyed watching it in IMAX, especially the music. Well done and congratulations to the entire team.”
However, Sanjay’s mention of the word “hype” while praising the film did not go down well with many social media users, who criticized him on the platform and slammed him. Later, Sanjay had to put out another tweet clarifying his intentions and urging people to stop abusing him.
Sanjay wrote, “I can’t believe so many id**ts are abusing me for this tweet about #Dhurandhar… What I mean to say is that I don’t think there is any hype in the film. Live life guys.”
