After Milind Soman, Saiyami Kher has become the first Indian actress to complete the world’s toughest triathlon: the Ironman race. She was in Berlin to compete in the world’s toughest triathlon: Ironman, which was held in September. She created history by becoming the first Bollywood female actor to participate and complete the said Ironman 70.3, which consists of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run, all one after the other without any interruptions. Was completed.
On being the first Indian actress to do so
After the race, Saiyami is enjoying the love and appreciation she is receiving.
When asked about creating history, the actor said, “I was never chasing it. this just happened. I know Milind was the actor who made it happen. But I am the first actress to do so.”
“It’s because of our profession, with the timing… If you are working in an office, you know your time is from 9:00 to 6:00, after which you can train. But when you are an actor, there are days when you work for 14 days. Some days there are night shifts and some days are 14 hours long. So, when you are an actor it is very chaotic on the body. I’m really proud that I managed to do this with all my schedule,” she said.
However, he hopes that his achievement can serve as a source of inspiration for others. “I hope this will inspire other actresses to take up this challenge and complete it. In fact, I hope it will inspire people, not just actresses. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about being an actor… I hope more women do it because the percentage of women doing it is not that high,” says the Ghoomar actor.
When it came to race preparation, Saiyami had to go through an intensive process to get better at running, swimming and cycling. He believes he has influenced a lot of people to “start running”.
What’s next for Saiyami?
Saiyami trained for over six months for the triathlon. And she doesn’t plan on taking it slow. The actor already has his eyes set on his next target.
“Right now, I am completing a film. Then, I want to start training again for the first full marathon. I will do this next year. That’s on the cards. I want to improve my timing for the race because this time I was not keeping track of the timing at all. I just want to enjoy it and get it over with. So now next time I do this, I will aim to improve on time,” she ends.
