Rupali Ganguly and Ashwin K Verma are excited for Karva Chauth 2025 while respecting the traditions. Rupali reflects on her first celebration and the happiness of the family.
Actress Rupali Ganguly and businessman husband Ashwin K Verma are all set to celebrate Karva Chauth in 2025, a festival the couple looks forward to every year.
Rupali says, “I’ve seen how much my in-laws enjoy celebrating Karva Chauth and it’s a legacy I want to continue. I’ve been shooting for the last five years but the team lets me go home early so I can break my fast. I’ve been to Karva Chauth parties, but this is a special moment shared by husband and wife, celebrated at home. My son keeps the Rudransh thali, so he’s also a part of the celebrations. It is a beautiful ritual from Sargi to Baya, Katha and wearing the red dress.” The Anupama actor and leading TV face said that this year, her co-actor has gifted her a beautiful red saree, which she will wear on Karva Chauth.
Sharing memories of Karva Chauth as a new bride she recalls, “My first Karva Chauth memory is that my father-in-law helped me prepare. He brought my sargi- ghee mathri, seviyan and many such dishes. This is my second Karva Chauth without my mother-in-law but my sisters-in-law come on video calls and we wish each other. There is nothing adverse about it, it is beautiful and Nobody forces you to do it, it’s something we do by choice.”
Her favorite part of the festival is the pampering she gets from the special men in her life. She says, “Ashwin is a brilliant cook and he prepares all my favorite food on Karva Chauth. I get pampered by both my husband and son Rudransh. We also love waiting for the moon to appear. Keeping a fast for the long life of your spouse is a beautiful tradition and I get emotional about anything related to tradition and culture.”
While fasting during shoots can be difficult, the actor says, “A lot of women go to work while fasting, housewives perform household duties. I don’t think I’m doing anything special, although it may be a little difficult. I’m lucky that I’m working and it’s been scientifically proven that fasting is good for the body, so it’s something I do happily. Karva Chauth is a celebration of your partner and the bond you share. Celebrates. It’s beautiful.”
