Rubio cables, sent to embassies around the world, marked the latest Salvo by the Trump administration against Harvard, who go to foreign students there and elite university more widely. Rubio said that the process written in the document would serve as a pilot for future days, when he stopped the interview for student visas to consider methods of weeding applicants understood to reduce potential risks for US national security.
Friday cable ordered new veating procedures for all foreigners who want to visit Harvard, which includes “future students, students, faculties, employees, contractor, guest speakers and tourists.” The Trump administration had earlier demanded a bar to Harvard from accepting any foreign students – a decision that was blocked by the courts.
