Medical Counseling Committee, MCC has opened the resignation window for NEET PG 2024 candidates who want to opt out of Round 1 and Round 2 seats. Candidates who wish to resign their seats can do so on the official website mcc.nic.in.
Candidates should note that the window for resignation from Round 1 and Round 2 seats will remain closed till 6 pm on December 26, 2024.
Notably, this decision has been taken by the MCC following requests from PG candidates who wish to resign their Round 1 or Round-2 seats due to various reasons.

The official notice reads, “MCC has been receiving many requests from PG candidates who wish to resign their Round 1 or Round-2 seats due to various reasons. In this regard, the competent authority has decided to allow resignation for such candidates. Candidates who wish to leave their Round 1 or Round 2 seats can do so from 04:00 PM on 17.12.2024 to 06:00 PM on 26.12.2024.
Important instructions to keep in mind:
- Candidates who have been allotted fresh Round-2 seats but wish to resign can vacate their seats by forfeiting the security deposit within the stipulated time of resignation.
- Those candidates who got upgraded in Round-2, joined on upgraded seat but now wish to resign from their seat, can vacate their seat with forfeiture of security deposit within the stipulated time of resignation.
- MCC says candidates will have to physically report at the allotted college to resign their seats.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that their resignation letter is generated by the allotted college online (through the portal provided by MCC), failing which the resignation will be considered ‘null and void’ as per MCC.

Meanwhile, MCC opened the IntraMCC portal for contribution of seats for Round 3 of PG Counseling 2024 in all participating PG institutes (AIQ/Deemed/Central Universities/Central Institutes).

The last date for contributing their seats for such participating institutions is December 12, 2024 till 5 pm.

MCC said that the institutions which have increased seats by NMC after the completion of Round 2 Counseling 2024 can contribute for additional seats/new seats on the portal.
However, MCC also urged the institutions not to contribute towards the seats left vacant after Round-2 due to ‘non-reporting’/’cancellation’/’resignation’ or which have already been contributed in Round-1.
