Eye problems due to heatwave

Dr. Director of Basu Eye Care Center, Dr. Mandeep Singh Basu revealed the following issues related to increased eyes during the summer:

  1. Dry eye – Due to excessive heat and lack of water, the moisture of the eye starts disappearing.
  2. Eye irritation and redness – Eyes turn red and many people also feel irritated in the eyes.
  3. Photofobia (sensitivity to light) – Due to excessive sunlight, the eyes lose their ability to bear sunlight or bright light.
  4. Conjunctivitis (eye allergy or infection) – The risk of viral infection and bacterial infection increases during summer days.
  5. Blurred vision – Sometimes, due to low water consumption during summer days or due to excessive heat, eye vision can be blurred.

  1. Tripla Eye Wash – Soaking Tripla powder in water overnight and washing eyes with that water in the morning reduces dryness and irritation.

  3. Cool sandalwood paste – making a paste of sandalwood powder and rose water and applying it on the forehead gives the eyes cool.
  4. Aloe Vera Gel – Applying Aloe Vera Gel near the eyes provides relief from dryness and irritation.
  5. Ghirita Netra Tarpan – Netra Tarpan is a remedy in Ayurveda that provides nutrition and coolness to the eyes.

Dr. Mandeep Singh Basu said that due to excessive heat and lack of water, problems such as irritation, dryness, redness and even blurred eyesight are increased. He advised, “In such a situation, being hydrated to protect your eyes, wearing sunglasses in the sun and using Ayurvedic remedies such as trifala eye wash, rose water, aloe vera gel and Ayurvedic eye drops is beneficial for the eyes. It helps to protect and take proper care of the eyes.”
