The Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of the most sought-after luxury nameplates in the world, and now it celebrates one hundred years since its debut in 1925. To mark the occasion, the British automaker has unveiled the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, an ultra-exclusive series of just 25 cars. This limited-run model is based on the Phantom VIII, which took more than 40,000 hours to design and reinterpret to celebrate a century of design and craftsmanship. 77 hand-crafted motifs documenting the marque’s history have been integrated into metal, leather, wood and embroidery using advanced in-house techniques.
1. External Design:

The exterior styling of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary references the grand Phantoms of the 1930s while using modern materials and finishes. It features a two-tone paint scheme called Super Champagne Crystal over Arctic White and Black, which contains crushed glass particles for a dazzling effect. The Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament has been recrafted in 24 karat gold and features a unique hallmark referencing the century. The traditional RR badge of honor is crafted in gold and white enamel for the first time, while 25 fine lines are engraved on the disc wheels, each marking one of the cars produced.
2. Interior Design:
The Phantom Centenary’s cabin is like a gallery, showcasing the nameplate’s heritage with upholstery that includes leather and textiles referencing early chauffeur-driven cars. The rear seats pay homage to the “Phantom of Love” of 1926, consisting of images, sketches and embroideries printed on 45 panels, amounting to more than 160,000 stitches. The front seats are laser-etched with symbolic motifs that mark milestones in the Phantom lineage from the 1923 prototype to the 2003 relaunch.
3. Anthology Gallery:

One of the defining features of the centenary, the Anthology Gallery, is a sculptural centerpiece composed of 50 3D-printed brushed aluminum wings, each engraved with quotes commemorating the Phantom over 100 years. The wings are illuminated in a way that mimics fireworks, with the reflections changing as the viewer moves.

4. Wood Work:
The door panels feature intricate woodwork made of blackwood stained to create layered compositions. Artisans use 3D marquetry, laser engraving and gold leaf to highlight important journeys and locations in the Phantom’s history. The woodwork is finished with individually engraved depictions of the original Phantom I and the current Phantom VIII on the picnic tables at the rear.
5. Craftsmanship

The Centenary’s woodwork seamlessly transitions into embroidered leather panels in an effort to continue the Phantom’s narrative. The 24-karat gold streets turn into embroidered golden threads, while the engraved details of maps and landscapes are stitched in black.
6. The Starlight Headliner:
The starlit headliner now depicts a reimagined night sky that includes references to the Phantom’s century-long story. With 440,000 individual stitches, the headliner depicts scenes such as Henry Royce sitting under a mulberry tree, bees from the Goodwood Tavern, and subtle nods to historical models such as the Phantom II “Bluebird”. The embroidery alludes to a secret Phantom Design studio, “The Bank”, and the famous Phantom Rose, creating a complex visual map visible only to those sitting below.

7. Engine:

The Centenary Edition retains the Phantom VIII’s 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12, but what sets it apart is its presentation. The engine bay features a special Arctic White cover with 24 karat gold accents that honors the powertrain that has defined the modern identity of Rolls-Royce.
