The CLAT 2025 exam will be conducted in offline, written mode on December 1, 2024. The exam is required for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes in 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating universities.
CLAT 2025: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria to apply for the UG programme is that candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for reserved categories).
For PG programme, candidates must have LLB degree with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). There is no age limit. Candidates who have taken the qualifying exam in March/April 2025 can also apply.
CLAT 2025: Documents Required to Apply
For registration candidates will require latest passport size photo, signature, category certificate (if applicable), PWD certificate (if applicable) and residence certificate (if applicable).
Steps to Register for CLAT 2025
Step 1 – Visit the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in
Step 2 – Register by providing the required details and verify through OTP.
Step 3 – Complete the registration by uploading the required documents.
Step 4 – Pay the application fee (Rs.4000 for General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO & OCI candidates and Rs.3500 for SC & ST candidates)
Step 5 – Submit the form and print the confirmation page.
To pass the UG exam, students will have to answer 120 questions divided into five sections, including English language, current affairs and general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning and quantitative techniques. Students will get two hours to write the exam. In 2024, a male student from Rajasthan topped the exam with 100 per cent. While five male and one female student scored 99.99 per cent marks.
