USA Today quoted Diaz as saying, “Brace your patience, whether traveling long distances or locally, people will be out and about to catch a glimpse of the eclipse.”
In Lorain County, Ohio, leaders are anticipating heavy traffic and possible phone problems during the eclipse. Lorain County Emergency Management Director Dave Freeman says their roads and services are not prepared for large crowds.
“Here we may have crowds, which we are not used to. We haven’t built the infrastructure for this, we don’t have the roads, Freeman said.
There is a possibility of huge traffic jams in the states where the eclipse will be mainly visible. According to a study conducted by GreatAmericanEclipse.com, even a small part of the eclipse path could bring 17,000 to 66,000 visitors to Oklahoma. This can really lead to road congestion, especially on smaller roads in towns.
