New Delhi. BYD, the world’s largest electric carmaker, has launched the Seal electric sedan in India. BYD Seal has been launched in three variants in the Indian market. Its base Dynamic RWD variant offers a range of 510Km and is priced at Rs 41 lakh. At the same time, customers will get a range of 650Km in the mid-spec Premium RWD variant. Its price has been kept at Rs 45.5 lakh. Whereas, the price of Top Performance (AWD) variant has been kept at Rs 53 lakh and it will offer a range of 580Km.
BYD Seal is based on modular e-platform 3.0 and has 800V electric architecture. The Indian-spec Seal gets an 82.56kWh battery pack with BYD’s Blade LFP battery for the Premium and Performance variants. Whereas, a smaller 61.44kWh pack is available in the Dynamic variant.
BYD Seal’s battery pack supports DC fast charging with speeds up to 150kW. With this, it can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 37 minutes. At the same time, with the 11kW on-board AC charger, the Seal can be fully charged in just 8.6 hours.
The battery pack provided in it will power the single electric motor which is installed in the rear axle of BYD Seal. In the Dynamic variant, this motor generates power of 201bhp and torque of 310Nm. With this, this electronic car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 7.5 seconds and its top speed is 180km/h.

Speed of 100 in 3.8 seconds
Whereas, the premium variant generates power of 308bhp and torque of 360Nm. Its range is up to 650km (NEDC). This is the highest among the three variants. Since, comes with a big battery. In such a situation, it reaches the speed of 0-100km/h in just 5.9 seconds. The Performance variant generates power of 523bhp and peak torque of 670Nm with dual-motor. At the same time, its range is up to 580km. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
Talking about the design, the design of BYD Seal is largely inspired by the Ocean-X Concept. Split lighting design has been given in its front. At the same time, four LED DRLs are also provided in the lower section of the front bumper.
Talking about safety features, it has got 5 star rating from Euro NCAP. ADAS technology is also supported in it. Talking about other features, features like drive selector, driving mode scroll wheel and dual wireless charger are also provided in it.
