Actor Rajkummar Rao has reacted to a question about people glorifying negative characters in films. On Raj Shamani’s podcast, the actor was asked about people criticising Shah Rukh Khan’s Devdas. People should not try to become Devdas, says Rajkumar
Talking about Devdas, the actor said, “If you want to become Devdas after watching it, the problem is in you. You are shown a story that there can be someone like Devdas. He (the director) is not telling anyone to become like him, and it is based on a book… it is the story of a character. He dies at the end. He is telling you that if you do this, you will die early. He is not telling you that he is facing all this, yet he is living well and has a lot of money.”
Rajkumar said that he likes Ranbir Kapoor and Animal very much
Talking about Animal, Rajkummar said, “I loved Animal, the experience of watching Animal. I enjoyed it. Did I have some problems with the film? Maybe. There were some scenes here and there, yes. But did I not like the film? Not at all, I loved the film, I loved the experience of watching the film. I loved Ranbir Kapoor in it and his acting in the film was mind-blowing. Rajkummar shared that a film critic said the film was named Animal and not Aadarsh Purush because the director wanted to show the story of an “animal”.

Based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s 1917 novel of the same name, the film tells the story of Devdas Mukherjee (Shahrukh).

Rajkummar was recently seen in the hit film Stree 2 opposite Shraddha Kapoor. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film released in theatres on August 15. Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan have done special cameos in the film. Stree was released in 2018 and was declared a hit.
