The Rajasthan High Court on Thursday canceled the controversial 2021 Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination due to allegations of paper leakage and participation of members of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).
Justice Sameer Jain canceled the examination, which was a bone of dispute for both BJP and Congress governments in the state and gave a detailed decision.
“Hindi idiom: ‘Ghar piercing Lanka Dhai’ (Inner Cutra of Maximum Damage), Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam fully surrounds the arrogant conditions around 2021, in which many parents were assigned to the sanctity of the procedure, who were members of RPSC, who were for it.”
The decision called it a “a group of monumental ratio”, in which “six members of RPSC worked with the sacred duty of protecting the public and public interest, chosen to cheat that belief”.
Senior advocate Major RP Singh, who represented the petitioners, said the illegality and fraud on the system was so clear and the decision is expected to serve as a preventive for the “gang” playing with the future of the youth.
Advocate Harendra Neil, who also represented the petitioners, said, “The participation of five members of RPSC has been found. The court has taken suo motu cognizance on cases related to RPSC. The court has said that the entire recruitment is polluted and if the recruitment is not canceled then the law and order of the state can be affected.”
Additional Advocate General Vigyan Shah, who represented the state, said, “SIT report, FIR registered, found that the then RPSC member Babulal Katara, Ramu Rika and there were irregularities in the recruitment process. The court made fast comments on RPSC’s functioning.
He said that the report of the state government’s investigation team and its cabinet sub-committee was opposed, if further irregularities were found in the recruitment examination, the examination could be canceled.
Cabinet Minister in the BJP -led state government, Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena, who had been advocating for a long time to cancel the exam, said, “This is a victory of truth. There was a fraud in the entire recruitment. According to my knowledge, there were more than 500 candidates who passed this examination through fraud.
BJP state president Madan Rathore called the High Court’s decision “supreme”.
It is believed that the state government is taking legal opinion and decides to take future action.
The Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tikaram Julli said, “The High Court’s decision to cancel the sub-request recruitment examination is commendable. The Congress party has always worked in the interest of the youth. In the country, stringent laws for laws, strict laws for laws, and for those who pay fine. Congress government.”
He said that during the Congress government, irregularities came out in level 2 REIT exam, which was canceled by the government and immediately conducted an investigation, providing employment to 50,000 youth.
Jali claimed in a post on X, “The BJP publicly talks differently about the sub-inspector exam, but is trying in court not to cancel this examination. It has also highlighted the double character of the BJP government.”
The BJP -led government took a stand not to cancel the examination despite being a political issue during the assembly elections 2023.
In 2021, RPSC advertised 859 posts for Deputy Inspector and Platoon Commander.
Allegations of a paper leak participated in the examination, making the government handed over the investigation to the Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG).
More than 50 trainees were arrested in addition to others involved in paper leakage.
In its report in the High Court, a State Cabinet Sub-Committee recommended not to cancel the examination in 2021.
