His comments came as Assam Chief Minister asked the DGP to book a case against the Congress leader for “inciting the mob” to break barricades in the state. Earlier in the day, the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was stopped from entering Guwahati on Tuesday, following which Congress workers started protesting and broke barricades and raised slogans.

Touching on important issues like unemployment, corruption and inflation in Assam, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi described CM Himanta Biswa Sarma as one of the most corrupt Chief Ministers of the country.
“Whatever the Assam Chief Minister is doing against Yatra, Yatra is benefiting from it. Assam CM and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are helping us by giving publicity which we would not have got. Now the main issue in Assam is travel. This is their intimidation strategy, our message of justice is reaching the people,” Rahul Gandhi said while commenting on the restrictions imposed on his foot march in Assam on Tuesday.
-Earlier in the day, Assam CM directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to book a case against former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for “inciting the mob” to break the barricade and called his actions “Naxalite tactics”.
“I have directed @DGPAssamPolice to register a case against your leader @RahulGandhi for inciting the mob,” the chief minister posted on X in response to a post by Youth Congress president Srinivas Biwi.
Sarma also said that the footage posted by Srinivas on his handle will be used as evidence.
-Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was stopped from entering Guwahati. Heavy police force and barricades were deployed in the main areas of the city. Following the ban, Congress workers staged a massive protest and broke barricades and raised slogans.
“We have broken the barricades, but will not break the law,” Rahul Gandhi said while addressing his party supporters on the outskirts of the city.
-The Congress leader claimed that a student’s conversation with Rahul Gandhi at the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), located in Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi district, bordering Assam, was stopped on the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. .
According to a PTI report, he claimed that the Union Minister had given instructions to the university authorities through the Assam Chief Minister’s Office.
– ”I wanted to come to your university and address you, listen to you. But what happened was that the Home Minister of India called the Chief Minister of Assam and the CMO called the leadership of the university and said that Rahul Gandhi should do this. Will not be allowed to talk to students,” Gandhi said while addressing students and others from the top of his travel bus at the Assam-Meghalaya border.
