Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sparked a heated debate on Tuesday as soon as the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra entered Uttar Pradesh. The Wayanad MP claimed that he had seen people lying drunk on the streets during his stay in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency. Union Minister Smriti Irani termed the politician as a ‘shameless person’ who has no right to insult the people of UP.
“Rahul has no right to insult the people of Kashi and the youth of Uttar Pradesh. Today the whole world looks towards UP for skilled and talented youth. Union Minister Smriti Irani said, we do not expect an apology from Rahul Gandhi because he is a shameless person.
The senior BJP leader also advised party president Sonia Gandhi to urge her son to refrain from commenting on such matters.
“The future of Congress is in darkness but the future of UP is moving towards development. My advice to Sonia Gandhi is that if she cannot give good upbringing to her son, then at least ask her not to comment…”
In a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who represents Varanasi in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that during his visit to the temple town as a part of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, he saw people intoxicated. I saw while lying down. Roads.
While addressing the public in Amethi, the Wayanad MP said that the youth of Uttar Pradesh are on a ‘yatra’ after drinking alcohol at night.

“Your space is limited only to the streets to beg while they (Centre’s alleged corporate partners) keep earning money,” he said.
Varanasi constituency has received huge amounts of funding from the central and state government and is also part of the Smart Cities Mission, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June 2015.
