Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of rigging the Maharashtra assembly elections through a five-step process, including tampering with the Election Commission and voting voters.
Rahul Gandhi referred to his pre-written op-ed under the title ‘Match-fixing Maharashtra’, stating that a step-by-step process was calculated to “rigged” elections.
Following LOP claims, ECI issued a statement, labeled the claims as “absurd”, saying that Rahul Gandhi had raised “unbalanced allegations” against “Maharashtra’s electoral role”.

The Commission emphasized that Indian elections are held according to law, and their scale and accuracy are praised worldwide.
“Any incorrect information is spreading by someone, not only a sign of disrespect towards the law, but also brings chaos to thousands of representatives appointed by its own political party and demotes millions of election workers doing uncontrolled and transparent work during the election.
The Election Commission said that after any adverse decision by voters, tried to discredit the Election Commission saying that this agreement has been reached, it is completely absurd.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis responded to Rahul Gandhi’s claims
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday dismissed the allegations of Rahul Gandhi’s last year’s state elections, alleging the Congress leader of “insulting the people of Maharashtra”.
“Rahul Gandhi is separated from the ground realities. Unless he stops misleading himself and offering false assurances, his party will continue to lose,” Fadis said, quoting PTI. “He needs to wake up, or he will keep making baseless statements that have gone away from the facts”
