The Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh has recently announced a recruitment drive for 33 posts of Judgment Writer. Candidates willing to apply for these posts must complete their application online through the official website of the High Court, highcourtchd.gov.in. The last date for submission of online applications is October 1. The selection process for this recruitment will be based on the performance of the candidates in the Word Processing / Transcription Test. The recruitment notification does not mention a written test as part of the selection process. This implies that the assessment will focus primarily on the skills demonstrated in the test related to word processing and transcription tasks.
The age of the applicant should be between 21 to 30 years. Age will be calculated as per 1st October 2024. Candidates falling under reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation as per existing rules and regulations. Candidates must have a graduation degree for recruitment to the post of Judgment Writer in Punjab and Haryana High Court. They must be proficient in working on computers (word processing and spreadsheet).
The application fees for Judgement Writer Recruitment in Punjab & Haryana High Court are as follows:
The application fee for SC/ST and BC category candidates of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh is Rs 800.
The application fee for candidates of other categories is Rs 1000.
Candidates applying for Judgment Writer posts must meet specific performance criteria. They are required to demonstrate a shorthand recognition speed of 120 words per minute in English. Their transcription speed on computer should be 24 words per minute with not more than 5 percent mistakes.
The shorthand detection test will last for 10 minutes, while the transcription test will also be of 10 minutes and will be graded out of 10 marks. Candidates must score at least 40 per cent of the total marks to pass the transcription test. Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs 10,300 – Rs 34,800 with a grade pay of Rs 4,800.
