New Delhi, 23 September (PTI) Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday outlined India’s progress in the creation of a strong innovation ecosystem and emphasized the importance of giving the country as a global brand of excellence in knowledge, science and technology.
While releasing a report, ‘Pathway to Progress: Analysis: Innovation Story of Analysis and Insights in India, which was prepared by Neeti Ayog, Pradhan asked India to run innovation to exploit the youth, talent and institutional strength of India, which is both scalable and inclusive.
Speaking at the event, Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh emphasized that innovation in India is widespread and not limited to marginal technologies alone.
Singh highlighted the government’s initiatives to carry out research, promote technology development and facilitate commercialization of innovations in all fields.
He underlined the importance of inclusive and reference-operated innovation that resolves the challenges of the real world, strengthening India’s overall capability to compete globally and run sustainable, equitable development.
Niti Aayog Member VK Saraswat emphasized strategic importance of science, technology and innovation in shaping India’s development trajectory.
Saraswat said that the report provides important evidence-based insights that can guide policy-making, strengthen institutional relations and increase cooperation between academics, industry and government.
Deepak Bagla, director of the Atal Innovation Mission Mission, explained the transformative role of the target in nurturing the talent of entrepreneurship, promoting innovation on scale and creating a lively startup culture across the country.
The report provides a holistic approach to incorporating India’s position in India’s innovation ecosystem, national and state initiatives, innovations at industry and ground level, startups, university-government-government cooperation, and India’s status in the global innovation rankings.
The report also identifies systemic challenges and excludes a forward -looking roadmap, including scales of successful models, promoting deep technology innovation, strengthening knowledge building, increasing global integration and building innovation capacity in states.
