New Delhi. Vashu Bhagnani-Jackky Bhagnani’s production house Pooja Entertainment is embroiled in a legal battle with Netflix over money. Bhagnani says that he owes Rs 47.37 crore to Netflix, whereas Netflix claims the opposite. He says that Pooja Entertainment owes him money. The case is being investigated by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) and Netflix India is facing criticism for not fully cooperating.
In April 2024, Vashu Bhagnani filed a complaint, stating that Netflix had interfered with his three films ‘Hero No. 1’ (still being filmed), ‘Mission Raniganj’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ . He also filed a complaint against two companies, Los Gatos Production Services India and Zoo Digital India, and their officials.
Netflix is not cooperating
Senior inspector Ravindra Awhad, who is handling the case, said, ‘Netflix has to pay Rs 47.37 crore to Vashu Bhagnani, but Netflix is not cooperating. We sent him two summons, but he did not appear. Bhagnani came to us in April, gave his statement and handed over documents. Netflix asked for time, but it never came. They keep sending lower level employees, but Monica Shergill (Content Head, Netflix India) should be present.

Netflix refuted Bhagnani’s claims, saying, ‘These claims are completely baseless. Pooja Entertainment owes money to Netflix. We are working with the authorities to resolve this issue.

As the legal battle continues, both sides are adamant on their positions. The matter is under investigation and Bhagnani is pressing for cooperation, so it is not clear how the dispute will be resolved. For now, all eyes are on the next steps taken by Netflix and Pooja Entertainment as they work to resolve this financial and legal dispute.
