Pika Pika! All otaku will want to travel on this Japanese airline, which has now partnered with Pokémon to make in-flight safety instructions accessible.
The latest safety video released by Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) features several popular Pokemon characters, including Pikachu, Eevee, Jigglypuff, Rotom, Emolga and more. Each fan-favorite character plays a key role in demonstrating the better use of seat belts, oxygen masks and other important in-flight amenities. The fun clip also summarizes a list of do’s and don’ts that passengers should do during their air travel.
This innovative video is clearly unforgettable, and the ageless charm of the Pokemon characters easily attracts travellers, and it depicts a number of safety scenarios.
While Jigglypuff details the smoking restrictions, the opening scene also shows a passenger helping a cute Pikachu put on a seatbelt. Eevee and Pikachu appear on screen several times, as fans have an everlasting love for these characters. Created for people of all ages, ANA’s Pokémon safety video maintains the standards of in-flight instruction teaching, and sprinkles it with an ample dose of entertainment.
“With this collaboration, we aim to thrill our customers and provide an in-flight safety video that can be enjoyed by people of all ages,” the Japanese airline said in an official description of the footage.

This latest addition to ANA’s collaboration with The Pokémon Company represents just one branch of an expanding partnership. Their “Pokémon Air Adventures” team-up has also resulted in the live display of character-themed aircraft – the Envy Jet HH (launching in September 2023) and the Pikachu Jet NH (launching in June 2023). These aircraft are decorated with numerous Pokémon characters on both the inside and outside of the jet. Safety videos will be shown on these aircraft starting August 15, 2024.
According to ANA’s official website, passengers aboard these planes will find refreshments such as cold drinks in Pokemon-themed air cups. Flight attendants are also expected to wear uniform caprons showing visual elements from the long-running anime.
Special Hate Flight souvenirs – a Japanese wooden tag, commemorative stickers, and a Pokémon-style boarding certificate – will also be distributed to passengers on the special jet. However, the souvenir distribution is only valid for a limited period and may not be available on certain routes or irregular flights.
In-flight entertainment includes Pokémon-related content such as Pokémon Kids TV and Pokétoon. Pikachu and Eevee Jet will remain in service until approximately 2028.
A message addressing the features of the Pikachu Jet aircraft stated: The “Pikachu Jet NH” aircraft features a livery designed for ANA, depicting the Sky High Pokemon Rayquaza across the entire fuselage to create a vibrant effect.

“Charizard, Latias, Latios, Vivillon and other flying Pokémon from around the world join Pikachu in flying toward the shining rays of hope and the infinite possibilities of an interconnected world. There are also Pokémon hiding inside the Engine, so please keep an eye out for them as you board Pikachu Jet on your next adventure!”
Eevee Jet, on the other hand, is described as follows: “Eevee has the ability to evolve into various forms. Eevee and its evolutions, such as Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon, are depicted moving decisively into the future alongside Pikachu. With an air of hope, they embark on a journey through the skies, flying to new places together with people.”
