Pension Issue: People are bearing the brunt of Digital India, problems increased due to closure of social security pension, no hearing

Darbhanga: There are many people in Digital India who are facing problems due to this changing system. The general public is suffering the consequences of this at the local level. There are 70 beneficiaries of social security pension in Panchobh Panchayat of Darbhanga district who were receiving social security pension for many years. But after coming into this digital race, when the system was updated, the social security pension of 70 beneficiaries of this Panchayat stopped coming in it.

Women are troubled by running around the office
These beneficiaries include many destitute, elderly, widows and disabled women. Now these women have to make rounds from the office to the head to get some assistance from the government. Neelam Devi, a widow of the same Panchayat, being troubled by roaming around the block, reached the door of the Panchayat head to narrate her sad story. Neelam Devi tells that after the death of her husband, she was getting widow pension, but now that too has stopped since last 3 years. Despite being a helpless woman, I am now tired of running around. There is no support for me. Now it is becoming difficult to even spend time. How will my family survive?

Copy of America, but not the same system
Local head Rajeev Choudhary says, ‘America is copied here in the digital sector. But there the digitization work is in the hands of educated people. A trainer with a salary of ₹ 50 comes and works here. Which turns it upside down. Someone has made a mistake in their name, someone is told that you have not got the KYC done on time. Someone is told that your thumb is not working.

Government should help the right beneficiary
The Mukhiya told that according to the information in my Panchayat, the pension of 70 to 75 social security beneficiaries has been stopped. There are many widows, old people and disabled people in it. Some people have got it started from scratch. But the biggest problem is facing the people who are not running, who have no one in their house, who are helpless women. Password is not given at the Panchayat level, one has to go to the block and get it done or go to a cyber café and this is causing a lot of trouble to the people. The government should help those who are the rightful beneficiaries by physically verifying it.
