Penalty on vehicle without HSRP, strict monitoring on fake plates, take details

The Transport Department has made HSRP mandatory from 1 April. Following the rules will be fined up to Rs 2500. Strict action will also be taken against those who make fake HSRP.

Those who are not following the rules are being fined and action. If you also want to avoid fine, then it is necessary to follow the rules. On the radar of the Transport Department, there are vehicles and drivers who do not have a high security number plate (HSRP).

Strictness from April 1, if not accepted, action will be taken
The department has prepared to impose heavy fine on these vehicles from April 1. It has been reported that according to the provisions of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, it is mandatory to install HSRP on all vehicles. HSRP has also been made mandatory on vehicles before 1 April 2019. Police is also monitoring fake HSRP makers. The department is getting information that fraudsters are preparing fake HSRP and putting fake number plates of second registration number instead of the original registration number of vehicles. The responsibility of installing HSRP on vehicles is the responsibility of the dealer.

Get HSRP installed before vehicle delivery
According to the department, it is the responsibility of the concerned dealer to install HSRP on the vehicles registered before delivery of vehicles. For this, no additional fee will be charged from the vehicle buyer. If a dealer for HSRP demands additional amount from the buyer, then his business certificate will be suspended. When the e-challan of a vehicle is issued, the department knows that the vehicle is at some other place. In this regard, Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal has sent a letter to the DM, SP and DTO asking them to make fake registration plates and take action. The Transport Department has issued a letter in this regard that no vehicle has to be delivered without HSRP.

What do officers say
HSRP i.e. High Security Registration Plate is a special type of number plate, which is fully prepared from aluminum. There is a hologram on its upper corner, which contains all the information of the vehicle. This plate has a unique code from the security point of view, which vary to all vehicles. In this regard, Sitamarhi Motor Vehicle Inspector Rakesh Ranjan said that HSRP has been made mandatory for all new and old vehicles. This plate is very important to improve vehicle safety and traffic management. There is a provision to impose a fine of up to Rs 2500 for not imposing HSRP on vehicles.
