History of Parshuram Dwadashi
According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Parashurama is worshiped as one of the eight immortals (Chiranjeevi) living on earth. He performed rigorous penance to please Lord Shiva, who, impressed by his devotion, granted him the divine Parshu, an axe, as a weapon. Lord Shiva then became his guru and taught him the famous martial art Kalaripayattu.
After this divine encounter, he came to be known as Parashurama. In Hindu mythology, Parashurama is depicted as a prominent figure during both Treta Yuga (the era of Lord Rama) and Dwapara Yuga (the era of Lord Krishna). He played important roles as the guru of famous personalities like Ganga Putra Bhishma Pitamah, Guru Dronacharya and Anga Raj Karna.

Parshuram Dwadashi 2024 puja rituals
On the auspicious day of Parshuram Dwadashi, wake up early in the morning and start taking bath. Engage in meditation and resolve to fast throughout the day. After this, spread a yellow cloth on the altar of your home temple and place a picture or idol of Lord Vishnu and Parashuram on it. Purify the image or idol with water from Ganga or any other holy water source.
While meditating Lord Parshuram, offer 21 yellow flowers and yellow sweets. Be sure to include basil leaves in the prasad. Conclude by listening to the divine story of Parashurama Ji and chanting his mantras, devoting yourself to his divine grace and blessings.
