Parliament monsoon session: Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Netroet Central Government has agreed to discuss the 16-hour discussion in the Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam terror attack. However, this discussion will be held next week after PM Modi returns from his UK-Mildev tour.
However, India Block has insisted that the debate should begin this week and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should respond. Opposition by opposition parties disrupted both houses of Parliament on the first day of the session.
The monsoon session of Parliament began on 21 July.
In the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, he attended by members of various parties and headed by Chairman Om Birla, sources told news agency PTI that government representatives said that PM Modi is going on a foreign trip this week, and a debate when he is present in the House is possible only next week.
PM Modi will visit the United Kingdom and Maldives from 23 to 26 July 2025.
According to the news agency, no decision has been taken on whether the PM will speak on the issue.
The Prime Minister met his senior cabinet colleagues, who later considered the strategy of the ruling coalition.
Opposition opposition
In the BAC meeting, the opposition members protested that the government’s agenda for this week did not mention their demand for debate on the issue.
He said that the Home Minister and the Defense Minister should also be present during the discussion. Some opposition members also called for a special intensive amendment of the election role in Bihar and a debate on the situation in Manipur.
Along with continuing the deadlock, the lower house was postponed for the day as the proceedings were interrupted by the opposing members.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi later slammed the government for not involving the demand of the opposition to discuss Pahalgam Terror Attack and Operation Sindor on this week’s agenda.
Talking to reporters, he accused the government of double standards, saying what it publicly claims.

India launched Operation Sindoor – its accurate attack on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan captured Kashmir – on 7 May, after the Pahgam terror attack, in which 26 people, most of the tourists were killed at the most mountainous station in South Kashmir on 22 April.
