Leaders of Opposition India Block are all set to hold a meeting ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament on Saturday, 19 July. Congress MP KC Venugopal said that there will be a virtual meeting at 7 pm on Saturday.
Venugopal posted on X on Thursday, “A meeting of leaders of India will be held online on Saturday, 19 July 2025 to discuss the political situation prevalent in the country at 7.00 pm.
Soon after the announcement, it was discussed whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Trinumool Congress (TMC) leaders would attend the meeting. There was also speculation about the agenda to be discussed in the meeting on Saturday.

Will AAP, TMC leaders participate?
There is no official confirmation yet. However, several reports claimed that two parties may miss the meeting, while some suggested that TMC could participate on Friday.
Indian express Sources cited that the AAP claimed that it is no longer part of the block, while TMC has officially cited the system for an annual party event.
In contrast, Today India Told that Mamata Banerjee’s TMC has confirmed that it will participate in the meeting, but there is still uncertainty about AAP participation.
Why AAP, TMC cannot participate in India bloc meeting
According to reports, the “real reason” for TMC is not attending the meeting, “message” for its cadre before the West Bengal election.
A TMC MP told Indian express: “We cannot share the stage many times with Congress and Left because we are against them in our state where elections are going to be held next year.”
“we support [INDIA] Alliances on national issues but this cannot mean that we follow their calls … we do not want to confuse our cadre. We will be with an alliance on issues in Parliament, but will not be with them many times, ”the MP was quoted saying this.
Meanwhile, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “We are no longer in India.”
Who is participating, who is not?
Congress sources said that almost all prominent leaders of India Alliance have confirmed their presence through video conferencing.
It includes leaders like Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray and DMK chief MK Stalin, India.
It states that either TMC chief Mamata Banerjee or leader Abhishek Banerjee is expected to attend the online meeting.
Leaders of NCP (SP), Left parties, RJD, JMM and IUML are also expected to attend the meeting on Saturday.
