Paris 2024 Olympic medals made from the Eiffel Tower
The Paris 2024 Olympics medals are incredibly special, as they contain original pieces of the Eiffel Tower. The winners of the 329 events that will take place by mid-August will receive these unique medals.
Here’s a heads up: the gold medals weigh 529 grams, the silver medals weigh 525 grams, and the bronze medals weigh 455 grams. Each medal contains 18 grams of ironwork from the Eiffel Tower, which was salvaged during one of its many renovations and maintenance in the 20th century. It’s like wearing a piece of France’s most iconic landmark around your neck! The medals not only feature pieces of the Eiffel Tower, but their design is also inspired by this iconic monument.
