New Delhi. Bollywood actress Rimi Sen, who has worked in superhit films like Golmaal and Hungama, has filed a lawsuit of Rs 50 crore against car company Land Rover. Actress Rimi Sen has filed this lawsuit over alleged technical fault in her luxury SUV Range Rover. In her complaint, the actress has alleged mental harassment regarding the car’s malfunctions and repairs.
According to reports, Rimi Sen bought a Range Rover luxury SUV worth Rs 92 lakh in the year 2020. Now many problems are coming to the fore in the sunroof, sound system, screen and rear-end camera of this SUV, regarding which the actress has filed a complaint against the SUV manufacturing company Land Rover.
Technical glitch found in SUV
According to a TOI report, she bought the SUV from Satish Motors Pvt Ltd, an authorised dealer of Jaguar Land Rover. However, she did not use the car much due to the lockdown imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that she is driving it, she is reportedly facing problems with the car.
The actress claimed in her complaint that her car collided with a pole on August 25, 2022 due to a faulty rear-end camera. She also informed the dealer about this, after which she was asked for proof. The actress says that after this the problems started in the car and many technical flaws started appearing one after the other.
Claim for compensation of 50 crores
The legal notice filed by the actress claims that there are flaws in both the manufacturing of the car and its service and maintenance by the authorized dealer. The actress says that the car has been sent for repairs more than ten times, yet the situation remains the same. Due to which she is facing mental harassment and inconvenience.
The actress has sought a compensation of Rs 50 crore for mental harassment, along with an additional amount of Rs 10 lakh for legal expenses. She has also demanded a refund of the money she got for the damaged car.
