Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that the criminals would see a loud and clear response to the criminals behind the horrific terrorist attack in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
“Yesterday, in Pahalgam, targeting a particular religion, the terrorists carried out a cowardly work, in which we lost many innocent lives. I want to assure the countrymen that the government will take every necessary step,” Rajnath Singh said.
The Defense Minister said that they will not only reach the criminals of this Act, but also to the actors behind the curtain.
“The accused will soon see a vigorous and clear response, I want to assure the country,” said.
Earlier in the day, Singh reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the meeting was attended by NSA Ajit Dowal, Chief General of Defense Staff, Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K and air chief Marshal Ak Singh.
The meeting allegedly discussed all possible aspects of the situation which emerged after an attack.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday visited the Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag to meet the injured victims of the Pahgam terror attack, in which many people lost their lives and injured others.
The attack by terrorists at Besaran Meadow in Pahgam on Tuesday is one of the deadliest in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike.
Earlier today, HM Amit Shah visited the affected area of Besaran Meadow, where the attack took place. The Union Minister first took an aerial stock of the region as he reached the site by helicopter, now on the grassland, impressing the trace of violence.
Before going to Pahalgam, the Union Home Minister paid tribute to the victims with “heavy heart” during a poignant ceremony and met the families of the victims outside the police control room in Srinagar.
Taking X in X, Amit Shah expressed his resolve to counter terrorism and said that “India will not bow down to terror.”
“With a heavy heart, the deceased of the Pahalgam terror attack was paid the final honor. Bharata would not bend to terror. The culprits of this disgusting terrorist attack will not be spared,” Shah said.
