Aashiqui 2 (2013)
Shraddha’s commercial breakthrough was as Aarohi Keshav Shikre, a singer who achieved fame with her talent even as her personal life fell apart. This remains one of his most memorable roles even today. In the film, which is based on A Star Is Born, her character falls in love with an alcoholic celebrity named Rahul Jayakar, played by Aditya Roy Kapur.
A Villain (2014)
While much of the film revolves around Sidharth Malhotra’s character Guru’s thirst for vengeance, Shraddha’s character Ayesha remains at the center of it. She becomes the victim of serial killer Rakesh Mahadkar, played by Riteish Deshmukh, triggering a chain of events. The film seems to be inspired by the Korean film I Saw the Devil.
ABCD 2 (2015)
While Shraddha showed her acting prowess in previous films, the sequel of Any Body Can Dance gave her a chance to show off her dance moves. She dominated a film that also starred Varun Dhawan and Nora Fatehi. Her on-screen chemistry with Varun also became the talk of the town at that time.
Street (2018)
The film was inspired by the urban legend of Nale Ba, which gained popularity in Karnataka during the 1900s. Stree gave Shraddha a chance to be seen in a new light and share the screen with Rajkummar Rao, whose performance was also appreciated. The film received good response critically and commercially.
Tu Jhooti Main Makkar (2023)
This Luv Ranjan romance gave the audience a chance to see that Shraddha can perform well, even if her role is good. In the film, she plays the character of Tinni, who falls in love with Mickey, played by Ranbir Kapoor, but later realizes that perhaps she does not want him in her life. The film also gave him a chance to show his comic timing.
