New Delhi. The problems of Ola Electric, the country’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, are not ending. Already the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) is investigating customer complaints against the company. Now the heat of this investigation has started reaching other electric vehicle companies also. According to information received from sources, CCPA is now preparing to send notices to other electric vehicle manufacturers also.
According to the information, CCPA will soon issue notice to other electric vehicle companies. This notice will be sent on the basis of customer complaints registered on the National Consumer Helpline. A major EV company is likely to receive the notice within the next 15 days. After this, a detailed investigation will be initiated on the basis of product and services.
What is the matter of Ola Electric?
CCPA has found several serious issues during its investigation into the complaints received by Ola Electric. The company had claimed that it had resolved 99.1% of customer complaints. But during CCPA investigation this claim was found to be false. According to the investigation, about 80% of the complaints are still unresolved.
Customer satisfaction claims under question
Ola Electric had said in its filing that out of the total 10,644 complaints received by CCPA, 99.1% of the complaints have been resolved. The company had also claimed that they have given priority to customer satisfaction. However, CCPA rejected this claim and said that the reality is the opposite.
CCPA also found that Ola was giving only coupon codes to customers under its “no-questions-asked” refund policy, which is a violation of customer rights. CCPA had directed Ola to give customers the option of alternative methods for refund.
Big challenge for EV industry
After the case of Ola Electric, now this issue has become a matter of concern for other electric vehicle companies also. Due to increasing customer complaints and strictness of CCPA, the entire electric vehicle industry may come under scrutiny.
The CCPA’s upcoming investigation will determine how transparent and effective companies are in resolving customer complaints. This case is a warning not only to Ola but also to other electric vehicle companies that ignoring customer satisfaction can now prove costly.
