Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi announced the recruitment of more than 44,000 primary school teachers in three years.
The Odisha government will recruit more than 44,000 teachers for primary schools across the state in the next three years, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Maji announced on Thursday.
Among the total, there will be about 40,000 newly created posts, the Chief Minister said that this step is part of the state government’s widespread push to strengthen the quality of primary education.
Majhi further said that the government has decided to regularize the services of teachers working in primary schools on a ad hoc basis under various schemes.
A release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) states, “The Chief Minister has directed to fill 44,433 posts in the next three years.
In addition to promoting teacher recruitment, Majhi directed the officers to expand the state’s free textbook scheme for students of class 9 and 10. Currently, free textbooks are provided only to children of classes 1 to 8.
The Chief Minister has also instructed the officials to appoint assistant nurses in the hostel to provide better health assistance to the students.
