All happiness depends on a comforting breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day that gives you energy and gets you ready for the day, so, if you, like us, believe that there is no truer love than the love for food – especially breakfast – then we are sorry to tell you but health experts suggest that we should include four foods in our morning meal. Yes, we love the smell of breakfast in the morning; it smells like victory but not all breakfasts are the same.

Although breakfast sets the tone for energy levels, focus, and even mood throughout the day, some convenient and delicious breakfast options can be detrimental to both short-term performance and long-term health. It’s no secret that a healthy breakfast should contain a balance of nutrients that support sustained energy and satiety but did you know, many common breakfast foods do just the opposite?

Taking to her social media handle, nutritionist Deepsikha Jain shared a list of foods and stressed that they should not be included in breakfast. She shared, “These foods add some unnecessary calories to your meal and can also lead to extra sugar spikes and weight gain. Opt for a breakfast that is full of fats and proteins 🥑 🍳This way it won’t spike your blood sugar and will keep you full for longer. (sic)”

Avoid These 4 Foods at All Costs

The diet expert joked, “These are the four foods I would never have in my breakfast. The first would be fruit juice or smoothies because they lack fibre and will spike your blood sugar first thing in the morning, making you feel extremely hungry throughout the day. The second would be tea or coffee. When you combine it with your food, it reduces the absorption of vital nutrients like iron, zinc and calcium. Hence, you end up losing a lot of them.”

“The third option would be flavoured yoghurt. It also contains artificial sugar and added sugar, which will again make you very hungry and load your breakfast options with too many calories,” he added. And the fourth option would be cereals. Although they are a quick and easy option, they again lack protein, fibre and fat – all of which will make you feel very hungry and your blood sugar will not remain stable. So, avoid these four foods in your breakfast,” he added.

It seems that many of our most popular breakfasts are far from ideal as they can lead to spikes in blood sugar levels, increased hunger, and long-term health problems. Let’s choose a breakfast that promotes sustained energy, satiety, and better overall health!
