On 5 August, Lusana shared an Instagram post in which women often made breakfast mistakes, making it more difficult for them to melt body fat. “As a fitness and nutrition coach, there are 3 breakfast mistakes that make most of the women who are catching them back from losing fat,” he said.
Mistake 1: Eating only fruit
While the fruit is filled with vitamins and fiber, eating it by itself can cause blood sugar, especially in the morning when your body is more sensitive to carbs. This can cause crawings and an accident a few hours later.
instead: Fruit fruit with protein and fat to balance blood sugar.
- Apple slices + almond butter + hard-up eggs
- Jamun + Cottage Cheese or Greek Curd
Mistake 2: Not eating enough protein
Low protein leads to low satisfaction, more cravings and muscle loss over time (especially during the phase of fat loss). Protein is important for appetite control, muscle retention and metabolic support.
instead: Targets for at least 20-30g protein in the morning.
Mistake 3: Relying on a healthy smoothie from the cafe
Many stores-bred or cafe smoothie, bar, or bowls are marketed as healthy, but loaded with sugar, low in protein, high in calories (some smoothies have 600+ calories). Also read Trying to lose weight? Dieticians say, avoid these five breakfast options
instead: Make your own smoothie at home where you can control what goes inside. Focus on a good protein source (protein powder, Greek yogurt), healthy fats (walnut butter, chia seeds) and fiber containing carbs (berries, oats, spinach).
