New Delhi. Czech carmaker Skoda is all set to introduce a new affordable sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market. This segment is already quite crowded in the Indian market. Now with the arrival of this new compact SUV from Skoda, the competition will increase even more. Models like Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue are currently popular in this segment. This upcoming compact SUV will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. Models like Kushaq and Slavia based on this platform are available in the market. The special thing is that like the other two models, this SUV will also be made completely in India.
Target to double market share
With this upcoming model, the company aims to target this growing market and double the overall market share in India. At present, information about this upcoming SUV of Skoda is very limited. However, Skoda has hinted that on the lines of Kushaq and Kodiaq, the name of this upcoming car will also start with K and end with Q. For now, the company has suggested the names Kylaq, Kariq, Kymaq, Kyroq and Kwiq for this upcoming SUV.

This sub-4 meter SUV will be officially launched in India in early 2025. This will be an entry-level model from the company. In such a situation, the company will fight in the growing budget compact SUV segment. Right now the company has not said anything about the engine but it is possible that it may get a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbo petrol engine. This motor generates 115 Bhp power and 178 Nm torque. This engine is found in Kushaq and Slavia.
As far as features are concerned, many modern features like sunroof, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, ADAS suite and connected car technology can be seen in it.
