New Delhi. Now the experience of chatting on WhatsApp is going to change completely. Yes, WhatsApp is going to roll out the customizable chat theme feature very soon in which users will get a completely new chat experience. It will soon be launched for both Android and iOS platforms of WhatsApp.
According to WABetainfo, a website that tracks new WhatsApp features, the new update aims to enhance the messaging experience by providing more control over the visual interface and allowing users to choose their preferred colour for chat bubbles.
The feature has been launched in beta version
The feature was first spotted in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.11.10.70 and later in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.17.19. The screenshots shared show that WhatsApp is testing a new section where users can choose their default chat theme. While the feature is still under development and hence a preview is not available, the report suggests that at least 10 chat themes may be available initially.
How will the new chat theme feature work?
WhatsApp has always allowed users to change the chat background, but the colors of the text bubbles cannot be changed. This feature is already available in other meta apps like Instagram and Messenger. With the new update, choosing a new default chat theme will automatically match both the wallpaper and the bubble colors.
The report also states that future updates may include a manual override option, allowing users to customize special chat bubbles and wallpaper colors for individual conversations.
This new feature, which is currently in development on WhatsApp beta for iOS, is also expected to be included in future Android updates, as spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.17.19 from the Google Play Store.
