New Delhi. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is going to launch its first electric scooter Activa EV on 27th November. The company has already released some teasers of this scooter. Now the news is that the design and many features of this electric scooter may be inspired by the company’s CUV e electric scooter, which was introduced at the 2024 EICMA show.
Honda had earlier shown the CUV e concept at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, which may have similarities in design and features with the Activa Electric.
Design and features
Honda has given a glimpse of its design in the teaser of Activa Electric. The design of the scooter’s headlight, seat and electric motor looks very similar to the CUV e. CUV e has a glimpse of a traditional scooter with a modern design. It includes elements like smooth finish, sleek tail lamp bar and apron-mounted headlamps.
This scooter comes in three color options which include Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Premium Silver Metallic.
Display and connectivity
There will be an option of dual TFT display for riders, which may include 5-inch and 7-inch screens. The large screen will support smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync Duo. This system allows Bluetooth pairing for calls, music control and navigation. Other features include a USB-C charging port and 12-inch alloy wheels on both sides.
Features of CUV e
Looking at the specifications of CUV e, the Activa Electric is also expected to get some similar features:
– Seat height: 765 mm
– Wheelbase: 1,311 mm
– Ground clearance: 270 mm
– Weight: 118 kg
– Reverse Mode: With which the scooter can be easily reversed even in tight places.
– Three riding modes: Standard, Sport and Econ
Battery and performance
The CUV e has a 1.3 kWh removable battery pack, which generates a maximum power of up to 6 kW. Its top speed is 80 km/hr and it gives a range of up to 70 km on full charge. It takes approximately 3 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 75%. MRF tires will also be used in the Activa EV and it has been designed keeping urban transportation in mind. After launch, this scooter can prove to be an important step for Honda in electric mobility.
