Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been making headlines ever since he debuted with the Telugu film Arjun Reddy in 2017 and remade it in Hindi as Kabir Singh in 2019. While Vijay Deverakonda rose to fame with the former film, despite the film receiving criticism for its misogynistic tone, it turned out that he was not the first choice for this film. How did Arjun Reddy happen?
Sandeep revealed that he had narrated a story to Allu in 2011, but the film never took off. After that, he wanted to approach him for Arjun Reddy, but he never got the chance. “I couldn’t contact him again and couldn’t meet him again. After that the script went to many producers and actors. Eventually, I decided to build it myself. A friend introduced me to Vijay and after a few weeks we started shooting. So yes, I wanted Allu Arjun in my first film,” said Sandeep.

Sandeep rose to fame with Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and the 2023 film Animal. Last year, the director had announced that he would be collaborating with Allu for a project. In the interview he said, “I was looking forward to working with him and now I am excited that we will be working together soon.” There should be more interest in working with each other. “This happens when the time is right.”

Sandeep has a police drama called Spirit with Prabhas and has also announced a sequel to Animal called Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor. The shooting of Spirit is yet to begin. Allu is currently shooting for the sequel of Pushpa with Sukumar, titled Pushpa: The Rule. The film will hit the screens later this year. Sandeep has said in the press conference that the story of his film with Allu has not been decided yet.
