Exposing great anxiety, he said, “A child’s skin is thin and more delicate than an adult and can react differently to environmental changes. The key to maintaining healthy skin is to clean, dry and moisturize your child daily.”

While hygiene is important, as Dr. Pagever suggested, a child’s thin skin makes them more vulnerable, combining with monsoon moisture and humidity, resulting in easily irritation, rashes and infections. To prevent this, following the habits of some baby care leads to a long way to keep the baby’s skin healthy.

Dr. Pejaver listed 5 baby care tips for new parents:

1. Avoid over-bathing:

  • While hygiene is important, the over-bath will snatch natural oils from your baby’s skin, making it dry and sensitive.
  • Bathing in lukewarm water once a day is enough to keep your child clean during the monsoon using light cleanser with natural ingredients.

2. Apply a light moisturizer

  • A heavy moisturizer may feel sticky in this humid season, as it can block the pores of your baby’s skin.
  • Lightweight, fast-absorbed, and non-chicken baby lotions and creams, which are rich in natural ingredients such as ghee, almond oil, olive oil, or aloe vera, help to nourish your baby’s skin to keep it healthy.
  • A gentle application of baby lotion and cream after your baby bath, while the skin is moist, helps to lock moisture and keep the skin soft and moisturized.

3. Keep cleanliness to wash baby clothes

  • During the monsoon, wet children can become breeding basis for towels and bibs bacteria and molds.
  • Parents should wash all baby clothes and beds with a child’s laundry that is safe for infants and removes germs effectively.
  • Sun-dry them to ensure fresh and naturally disinfected clothes.

4. Check for moisture in diaper sector

  • The monsoon season often releases the cowardly bits of moisture in the small skin even after diaper changes.
  • Always make a point to dry your baby’s skin with a gentle pat before putting on a clean diaper. It helps to avoid rashes and keeps your child comfortably.
  • If the child still gets a rash, use a diaper rash cream that is affected by natural ingredients and contains zinc oxide to help heal it safely and effectively.

5. Use herbal powder in folds

  • The rain brings extra moisture, which can make the skin folds moist and itchy or irritable to the neck, armpits, thighs and diaper areas.
  • Use a gentle child to clean areas and apply a small amount of light, natural component-based powder.
  • This will absorb any extra moisture and help your baby’s skin to be dry and comfortable throughout the day.
