Netizens ask Kangana Ranaut after video insulting Urmila Matondkar resurfaces

The post, reportedly shared by Congress social media chairperson Supriya Shrinate on Monday, which contained a picture of Kangana Ranaut wearing a corset top with an objectionable caption, has been removed.

However, an old video from 2020 has resurfaced on social media where Kangana Ranaut is heard referring to Urmila Matondkar as a “soft porn star”.

In a video, Ranaut was seen discussing the drug culture prevalent in Bollywood, saying that 99 percent of the industry is exposed to drugs. This drew a response from Urmila Matondkar, who suggested that Ranaut should also consider the drug trade in her home state Himachal Pradesh. In an interview, Ranaut commented that Matondkar was not known for her acting skills and compared her to a “soft porn actor”.

In a post on X, Akshit wrote, “This same Kangana Ranaut called Urmila Matondkar ji a “soft porn star” on live TV! Has Kangana ever apologized to Urmila Matondkar, who is so senior and a better actress. ” yes? Supriya Shrinet has already given clarification and removed her post!”

Now, netizens are bringing out these comments to criticize Ranaut’s stance on women’s issues.

“She will play the woman and victim card, she is a professional. Unfortunately, Supriya gave what she was looking for ever since she announced her candidature. Now she will be projected as “women power”, look at the so called host of the show proudly,” wrote one user.

Another wrote, “Kangana you should be ashamed.”

At the time of writing, the post had received 4,600 likes, 204 bookmarks and 154 comments, and had been reposted 1,800 times.

One user wrote, “Kangana, show some respect for your fellow Bollywood stars.. You are known for something that the entire Bollywood and the world knows for.. The prime rate in the market has fallen a lot.”
