NCERT has introduced new books for classes 5 and 8 starting from 2025-26 seasons. These books have been aligned with the National Course for the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the NCF-SE 2023. Children are designed to promote creativity, curiosity and concept clarity, ‘curiosity’ (science) in new class 8 books, ‘Kaushal Bodh’ (Wordsical Education), ‘
New NCERT books emphasize Indian culture, scientific achievements and moral values. Class 8 Science Book ‘Curiosity’ Cowid -19 Vaccine, The Make in India Initiative, The Chandrayayan Mission, Ayurveda the principles and traditional medical systems throw light on India’s modern achievements, which encourages scientific curiosity and shows India’s global achievements.
The new class 8 books are attractive, written in simple language, and designed with a clear vision.
1. ‘Curiosity’ is a new science book that focuses on practical activities and examples of real life with 18 chapters covering chemistry, physics and biology. Topics such as genetics, ecology and biotechnology have been explained in simple terms.
2. The center on ‘Kaushal Bodh’ on vocational education provides students with skill-based education to prepare for future employment opportunities.
3. These success stories inspire values like courage, kindness and scientific curiosity.

5. ‘Santoor’ (English) and ‘Veena’ (Hindi) have been introduced for class 5, which focuses on activity-based teaching to help young children learn language in an interesting way through sports.
Where can I find new NCERT books?
Although NCERT has launched these books under NEP 2020, some challenges have arisen. New books are not yet fully available online, and there are complaints of reduction in Amazon or local shops. Some parents and teachers have requested NCERT to upload the PDF of these books on their website. NCERT plans to print 15 crore books and has partnered with platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart to facilitate easy delivery.
