Astronauts on NASA’s Artemis III moon mission will adorn spacesuits designed by luxury fashion house Prada in collaboration with commercial space company Axiom Space.
These new designer spacesuits were unveiled at the International Astronautical Congress in Milan on Wednesday.
The predominantly white suits feature a cropped torso design with stone-grey patches at the elbows and knees. Despite being conspicuously devoid of branding or logos, the design features red accent lines on the forearms, waist and “Portable Life System backpacks”, a subtle homage to Prada’s Linea Rossa sub-brand.
At the press conference, Axiom Space executive vice president Russell Ralston described the partnership as ‘unprecedented’ and said, “We are blending engineering, science and art.”

The Artemis III mission, planned for late 2026, aims to be NASA’s first astronaut landing on the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. Additionally, this mission could witness the historic moment of the first woman to step on the Moon.
Today, anyone with deep pockets can go to space, Bertelli told reporters in Milan. “Soon it will become affordable and people will be able to go to the moon. So I think we’re just at the beginning of a new era.”
