Astronomers say that the total amount of matter present in the universe is about 30 times more than what can be seen with telescopes. The universe is full of mysterious objects that humans have not yet discovered. As space agencies like NASA, ESA, ISRO are trying to unravel the hidden mysteries of the universe, take a look at the top five pictures shared by NASA of celestial bodies in space.

The Bubble Nebula is located about 7,100 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered in 1787 by British astronomer William Herschel; the star is about 4 million years old and about 45 times more massive than our sun.

Mercury, the planet closest to the Sun, consistently exhibits extremely high temperatures. This image provides a color base map of Mercury’s surface. This image was provided by the Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging (MESSENGER) spacecraft, the first to orbit the planet.
This view provides a key contrast to the planet’s surface, showing chemical, mineralogy and physical differences across Mercury’s surface.

The sparkling light captured in the photo comes from individual stars and other sources. The image captured by NASA Hubble shows a glowing star that is 10 times more massive than our Sun and located 6,500 light-years away. The bright star in the southern hemisphere, RS Puppis, is wrapped in a thin cocoon of reflective dust.

The image of the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A (Cas A) looks like a glowing ornament you might find in most homes. The image was taken by the James Webb Telescope, a powerful telescope at NASA that can detect the tiniest lumps of sulfur, oxygen, argon and neon gas from the star. The gas contains dust and molecules that will eventually become part of new stars and planets.

NASA’s Hubble telescope has captured a unique galaxy, located about 17 million light-years from Earth. Located in the constellation Coma Berenices, this galaxy is known as the “evil eye” and has extensive bands of cosmic dust.
Discovered in 1799, astronomers know this galaxy for its unique internal motion. The gas in the inner and outer regions moves in opposite directions, which may be due to a recent galaxy merger.
