Nanar Nagendran, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Tirunelveli constituency, formally announced on Saturday 12 April Tamil Nadu BJP unit president. Nanner Nagandron was warmly awarded by former BJP chief and other senior BJP leaders of BJP.
Nagendran will be successful in the former IPS officer’s Annamalai, now ready for a national role that seems to be a clear reward for his work in Dravid Heartland.
Annamalai was one of the 10 leaders of the state, who proposed the name of party vice -president and legalist Nanner Nagendran for the post of President. He was also the only person to file nomination for the post.
“He [Nagendran] Due to his experience, the leader of the BJP Legislature Party was made. A senior BJP leader told PTI that he has been given a big role to pursue the party to win the assembly elections next year.
Who is Nanner Andran?
Born in Vadiveswaram in neighboring my district, Nanar Mandaran is a former AIADMK leader who sidelined Jayalalithaa after the death of Jayalalithaa. He again joined BJP
He was later appointed BJP State Vice President.
Nagendran Jayalalithaa was a former Minister of State in the Cabinet and his growth in Tamil Nadu BJP chief is seen as a step to bring AIADMK back into NDA Guna when emotions increase against the alleged Hindi imposition by the Center.
He has won three times from Tirunelveli – 2001, 2011 and 2021 elections. While he fought twice on the AIADMK ticket, he was as a BJP leader for the third time.
He contested against the 2006 and 2016 assembly elections and in 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections unsuccessfully.
He stopped a controversy in 2018 when he announced the reward 10 crores to anyone, who cut the tongue of Tamil lyricist Vairamuthu to make a controversial remarks on the goddess.
And he warned those people who are accompanied by sick results of Hinduism.
Nagendran arrested Hindu Munnani Vice President VC Jaibalan for the alleged indecent speech.
