Mandala is the second largest city in Myanmar. This earthquake of 28 March was badly affected. Its capital was on about half the road amidst Napatavat, where government offices were also affected during the last earthquake.

But this is the most powerful earthquake ever among the hundreds of tremors that occur after the disaster of March. The Meteorological Department of Myanmar said that on Sunday, the earthquake came at a depth of 20 km (12 mi) in the area of Wundwin Township in the area of 97 km (60 mi) south. Two residents of Wundwin said that the earthquake was so powerful that people fled out of buildings. The roofs of some houses have been broken.
