A Gurgaon resident claims that several of his expensive cars, including a BMW and a Mercedes, were damaged due to the heavy rains in the city.
A Gurgaon resident claims that his expensive cars were damaged after the rains lashed the city. The resident, popularly known as Gajodhar Singh on social media, has shared a video of the damage done to his BMW M340i. Yesterday 83 lakh people were partially submerged.
Expressing his anguish, he questioned the Gurugram authorities for the city’s infrastructure. “I pay my taxes, pay my bills and wake up one morning and see my house, my BMW, Mercedes, i20 are stranded and gone,” Singh wrote on Instagram. “So far no official or staff has come to fix the situation,” he wrote, adding that he was “very shattered” by this turn of events.
Gajodhar Singh (not his real name) said he tried to get a crane to lift his cars, but no crane would come down in the deep water. His video shows scenes of a waterlogged road outside his house in Gurgaon’s posh Sector 57.
“This is not Mumbai or Bangalore, welcome to Gurugram/Gurgaon, a metro city of India,” Singh wrote on Instagram, urging his followers to tag local authorities and bring their plight to their attention.

There was a lot of uproar on social media regarding this video. An ex-user shared the video and wrote, “Imagine seeing your car in this condition after paying half its price as tax to the government?”
“This is such a shame. And the government wants people to happily pay huge taxes just to be affected by the floods. This is an absolute joke,” commented an Instagram user.
One person called it a “failure of infrastructure”, while another said drainage is a major problem in Delhi NCR.
Heavy rains lashed Gurgaon in Haryana on Thursday, leading to severe waterlogging and flooding in several parts of the city. Residents stranded inside their homes or on waterlogged roads blamed the delay in cleaning of drains for the flooding.
