A student of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai was found dead in his rented apartment on Sunday. Police said ragging is suspected to be the reason behind his death.

According to NDTV report, Jaiswal had gone to a party with his friends in Vashi the previous night and was drunk. Police said the student did not wake up in the morning and was rushed to a local hospital in Chembur, where he was declared dead.
Police sources said that all his friends are being interrogated.
In a post on Instagram, the institute expressed grief over the death of the student and said that their thoughts and prayers will always be with the family of the deceased.

“With deep sadness and heavy heart, we announce the passing away of Anurag Jaiswal, a first year HRM&LR student of TISS Mumbai. Our thoughts are with Anurag’s family in this sad time and our thoughts and prayers will always be with Anurag’s family,” it said.
A case of accidental death has been registered in this case and investigation is underway.
