What makes psoriasis worse in monsoon?
1. High humidity: The moist and sticky environment can irritate the skin and potentially be fungal (such as athlete’s feet) or bacterial infections that can trigger an episode of psoriasis.
2. Lower sunlight: UV rays are important to slow down excess skin cell turnover, which is why the plaques get spoiled during the monsoon season when we do not get that natural light.
3. Temperature change: Moving in a hot indoor atmosphere from cold outdoor air, moisture can be printed from your skin, which can dry and dehydrate it.
4. Stress and seasonal diseases: Other specific monsoon diseases such as colds or sore throat can trigger immune responses that combine deteriorating psoriasis.
