Lok Sabha Session: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday listed ‘ten’ issues that happened in the first fifteen days of the Modi government. These include NEET-UG 2024, heatwave deaths, terror attacks in Kashmir and more. It is worth noting that Monday was also the first day of the Parliament session of the third government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rahul Gandhi alleged, “Psychologically on the backfoot, Narendra Modi is busy saving his government.”
The issues listed by Rahul Gandhi include, “horrific train accidents, terror attacks in Kashmir, plight of passengers in trains, NEET scam, NEET PG cancellation, UGC NET paper leak, milk, pulses, gas, toll becoming costlier, forests blazing with fire, water crisis, deaths due to lack of arrangements during summer”.
In the tweet, Rahul Gandhi said, “India’s strong opposition will continue its pressure, raise the voice of the people and will not let the Prime Minister escape without accountability.”
On Monday, Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of “attacking” the Constitution. He stressed that the opposition party considers such attacks unacceptable in India.
Opposition leaders, including Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, protested inside the Parliament premises, holding copies of the Constitution in their hands.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing media persons before the start of the Parliament session, took a veiled dig at the Congress over the Emergency imposed in 1975 and said it was a blot on democracy when the Constitution was abandoned.
He said, “Tomorrow is 25 June. 25 June marks the completion of 50 years of that blot on India’s democracy. The new generation of India will never forget that the Constitution of India was completely denied, every part of the Constitution was torn to shreds, the country was turned into a prison and democracy was completely suppressed.”
