Modern School, Barakhamba Road celebrated its 105th Founder’s Day on 17th October 2025 and paid tribute to its visionary founder Lala Raghubir Singh, whose ideals continue to inspire generations.

Present on the occasion were chief guest Ustad Amjad Ali Khan – a renowned alumnus and world renowned sarod player – along with Ms. Meera Pradeep Singh, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees; Ms. Ambika Pant, Treasurer; and other eminent members of the Board of Trustees, School Managing Committee and invited dignitaries.
The guests along with Principal Dr. Vijay Dutta visited the exhibitions based on Chambal River which showcased the creativity and technical skills of the students from different subjects. Conceptualized by Ms. Ambika Pant, the YaRI initiative laid the foundation of environmental management; The Chambal Project takes this approach forward by deeply engaging students with the river’s ecosystem, heritage and conservation imperatives.
A thrilling horse show, NCC disciplined Guard of Honor and tunes of the school band set a dignified tone for the day. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp and school song, followed by the Principal’s address and presentation of the annual report. Meritorious students were honored for their achievements, and the in-house musical production An Emotional Odyssey enthralled the audience with its message of hope and resilience.
In his address, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan recalled his school days and how Principal MN Kapoor had once reassured him when he feared failing in mathematics: “I will not let that happen.” He shared that Moderna’s strong foundation gave them the strength to face every challenge with confidence and grace. Concluding his remarks, he sang a soulful tune celebrating the power of music to unite hearts.
The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Justice Mukul Mudgal, Chairman of the School Managing Committee.
